Anxiety

Anxiety disorders affect 5% of the household population, causing mild to severe impairment.

What is anxiety?

There are many different types of anxiety disorders. Anxiety is initially a helpful tool our body uses to motivate us and warn us of potential dangers. An anxiety disorder occurs when the anxiety prohibits us from functioning as normal and impacts our lives. Learn more

DEPRESSION

Approximately 8% of adults will experience major depression at some time in their lives.

Suicide accounts for 24% of all deaths among 15-24 year olds and 16% among 25-44 year olds.

Depression is a mood disorder, it impacts our mood which in turn impacts our self-esteem, energy, and ability to function. Many people who are depressed withdraw from their loved ones and see performance issues at work/school. Depression can vary between males and females, often males experience anger and irritability which makes it harder to recognize. Learn more

Almost one-half (49%) of those who feel they have suffered from depression or anxiety have never gone to see a doctor about this problem.
